The Pan Masters in Warrenton

The Bluemont Concert Series is proud to present The Pan Masters on Saturday, July 31st at 7:30 p.m. for the sixth of eight concerts in downtown historic Warrenton, Virginia.

All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. on the lawn of the old Warren Green Building at the corner of Culpeper and Hotel Streets in downtown Warrenton, just up the street from our former concert location at Old Shadowlawn. Admission is $5 per person, $4 for Bluemont Friends and seniors, $2 for kids under 12; proceeds go to support Bluemont’s year round Artist-In-Education Program in area schools.

The popular Pan Masters thrill audiences with exotic island instruments, great music and dancing on the green. Their eclectic repertoire ranges from traditional island calypso, reggae and soca to the band's interpretations of Stevie Wonder, the Beatles, J.S. Bach and more.

Originally from the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago, the Pan Masters are perennial winners of Baltimore, Washington and New York City steel band competitions, including outstanding performance awards at the DC Caribbean Carnival for ten years running.

The Pan Masters have performed for Bluemont since 1982, and many of the current band members are children of the original Pan Masters. A Bluemont audience favorite, this fantastic performance is not to be missed.

Plan to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on and a picnic to enjoy before the concert. A local community group will provide homemade refreshments as a fundraiser for its programs. As at all Bluemont concerts, pets, alcohol and smoking are not allowed. In case of bad weather, the concert will be held indoors at Taylor Middle School.

Bluemont relies on more than 1,000 volunteers each summer to ensure that performances go smoothly, and on the support of local businesses and community organizations. If you would like to volunteer this summer, please contact Claire Mitchell at (540) 338-4640 or email her at claire@bluemont.org. Businesses interested in sponsoring a Warrenton concert are encouraged to contact Peter Dunning at

Sponsored by Bluemont, this popular concert series is made possible by a successful public/private partnership, including the Town of Warrenton, the County of Fauquier, the Virginia Commission for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Partners and major donors in the private sector include more than 250 local businesses and 1,200 friends and families in the community. The Warrenton concerts are part of Bluemont’s award-winning program that brings 350 cultural programs to schools, communities and healthcare facilities in 80 communities in northwest and central Virginia each year.

This summer, Bluemont will present more than 50 concerts in eight communities in northwest and central Virginia including: Ashland, Colonial Beach, Culpeper, Fredericksburg, Leesburg, Middleburg, Warrenton and Winchester. We welcome you to visit any of the other Bluemont concert sites. For complete schedules, directions and more information contact the Bluemont office at (540) 338-4640 or visit www.bluemont.org.
